Irish Minister in Warrenpoint


We had a visit from Heather Humphreys, The Irish Minister for Arts, Heritage and The Gaeltacht to Warrenpoint , who unveiled the new memorial to the people who fled Ireland on The Lady Caroline bound for New Brunswick, Canada at the time of the Famine.


This visit was part of the Annual Famine Commemoration which took place in Newry. It was the first time this has been held in the North.


Warrenpoint seen many people flee through it's Port at the time of the famine.
