ICE - In Case of Emergency - was the ingenious brainchild of a British paramedic. You simply add ICE as a contact on your phone to help the emergency services locate and contact a family member or friend who can speak on your behalf if you are unable to as a result of a medical emergency.

A problem arises if you have your phone locked or password protected. There are apps available that can bypass this process. A simple solution is to have this vital information at hand where it can be quickly accessed.

The ICE Contact Disc is a great way to have this information permanently at hand in your car.

Consider who you should choose as your ICE contact. Choose someone who knows about any pre-exisiting conditions or allergies that you may have. Make sure to tell the person that you have designated them as a contact and what important information they need to know in the event they are called by the emergency services.

Make sure to note any medial conditions or allergies that you have to assist the emergency services in the treatment they adminster in the event of a medical emergency.
