We were delighted to welcome the Saga Pearl II and her passengers to Warrenpoint this morning.

There was a huge crowd along the promenade and on the pier to greet our visitors.

There was a tremendous buzz and it was really great to see so many people get out of their beds on a Sunday morning to witness this great event.

Let us hope that this is the first of many cruise ships to come up Carlingford Lough and stop off in our town. We want to congratulate the team of people who worked hard to organise this and make it happen. This is what it is all about - taking a risk and just going for it. The rewards will be reaped.

Let us all work together to put Warrenpoint and South Down on the map.
