Battered!

The winter of 2013/14 was certainly mild as far as extreme temeprature drops, however the County Down coastline and particularly Warrenpoint took a battering from that other powerful force of nature: the sea.

Carlingford Lough was a tempestuous cauldron of power and destruction.

The aftermath was not pretty. However, the extreme power of nature made long overdue structural work to the Warrenpoint to Rostrevor Road happen whether we liked or wanted it or not.

For anybody having to travel on the Warrenpoint to Rostervor Road, the delays and queued traffic at lights seem never - ending but nature forced our hand and there was very little we could do but bow down to it and accept that nature is just more powerful than us despite how sophisticated and clever we think we are.

If you were wondering what it is like to get a battering by Carlingford Lough - Check out our video HERE
