New Taxi Meters

Have you noticed the taxi meters in the town? What has your experience been - is it a fairer and more economical system?

From 31 May 2016, it will be a requirement that taxi have a meter and printer. However, this will not be enforced until 1 October 2016.

A new Northern Ireland wide maximum fare structure will be in place and Taximeters must be programmed to operate within this.

This is how the taxi fares are calculated.

Taxi driver must display the new Fare card.
