Community Centre News
We have read the very comprehensive feasibility study that was commissioned by the local council into the provision of a Community Centre for Warrenpoint.
The study considers the provision of a community hub in Warrenpoint which would provide a range of public services and community, recreation and youth provision.
It also considers the economic and financial implications of providing such a facility in Warrenpoint and wants to ensure that any hub is based on a sound understanding of need and demand.
There is absolutely no doubt that the centre is both wanted and needed. A recent meeting in the Town Hall gave local people an opportunity to have their say and hear from the local represenatives.
Below is a list of the options all of which are all explored in great detail in this report.
The site of the police station appears to be the author's preferred option of the three locations studied.

IMPORTANT - This report did mention that Warrenpoint's social and economic were relatively modest, generally of low profile and not of sufficient impact on many of our local people to result in a ground swell of community.
Fancy words for we have not kicked up enough fuss!!!!!
This has changed now with a vibrant social media discussion showing a need and the support to make it happen.
This is were it is up to us to show we are a community and keep the momentum going!
Show your support for this tomorrow in the Town Centre from 10am to 2.00pm!
